The Confederation of European Waste-to-Energy Plants (CEWEP), holds its 5th Congress in Antwerp, Belgium from June 30th to July 2nd 2010. The event will focus on waste-to-energy (WtE) and its role in combatting climate change. Presentations will cover the potential for greenhouse gas mitigation, establishing the biogenic and fossil content of waste, and the interaction of waste and energy policy. Other topics to be addressed include improving the energy efficiency of WtE plants, the EU’s planned Industrial Emissions Directive, and market development in Europe and world-wide. On July 2nd conference attendants may join technical tours to either the Indaver facility in Doel or the Isvag plant in Wilrijk.
